  • Information for parents

    Fri 29 Jan 2021
Good afternoon everyone. Once again the media have reported events without consulting schools or local authorities. I know it has been stated that pupils will return to school on 22nd February. Please be assured that we will not be re-opening without considerable guidance and support. Please trust that as soon as we have worked with the local authority to develop a plan and the Science confirms things are safer we will let you know the arrangements. In the meantime we will continue as we are doing. We are working together as a team and keeping each other safe. Remember if you need anything please let us know. Have a lovely weekend.
  • Update

    Sun 24 Jan 2021

Don't forget everyone another collection of work packs from Bethania Chapel tomorrow:

    Y1,2 = 11am -11.15am

    Y3,4 = 11.15-11.30am

    Y5,6 = 11.30am - 11.45am

You are all doing an amazing job of home schooling. We have seen so many of you online while the lessons are going on and in the background of the flipgrids that the children have recorded. Parents you should be proud of yourselves it's not easy we know!!!

This situation looks set to continue until after half term. It is really frustrating we appreciate but hang in there. Stay safe. Over the next couple of weeks we will contacting you if your child has not been accessing any of the work that we have been providing. This is to check what we can do to help. Please answer the phone during school hours as it will be the class teacher. Many thanks for all your support during this time. Stay safe everyone!!

  • School Hubs

    Sun 10 Jan 2021

Dear Parents, please note if you are key workers as identified on the Welsh government eligibility list : https://gov.wales/coronavirus-critical-key-workers-test...

then you must apply for your child's hub place at school before the end of the school day on Wednesday 13th January. This is a strict deadline. To apply for your place please email :admin@maesymorfa.ysgolccc.cymru with the names of your child/ren and details of where you work along with what your key worker status is. We will also require, before Friday 15th January, a letter from your employer on headed paper as proof that you are key worker.

PLEASE NOTE OUR HUBS HAVE RESTRICTED NUMBERS AS WE WANT TO KEEP OUR STAFF AND PUPILS AS SAFE AS POSSIBLE. PLEASE ONLY APPLY FOR A PLACE IF YOU HAVE NO OTHER OPTION. IF WE HAVE TO ASSIGN MORE STAFF TO HUBS THIS HAS AN IMPACT ON THE HOME LEARNING WE CAN PROVIDE TO EVERY PUPIL. THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING.

  • Dear Parents

    Mon 04 Jan 2021

Dear Parents as you have probably heard on the news, schools are being asked to stay closed until Monday 18th January at least. This means that we will move to online learning from Thursday this week. You have all been given letters which indicate how your child will receive online learning and the passwords etc

We will be in touch with those parents who qualify for key worker status. Please understand that places in the hub are only available if both parents are categorised as key workers e.g Fire, Ambulance and Police, NHS staff, Residential care and nursing homes, social workers along with key council staff and teachers. If one parent does fall under these categories then the place will not be available. We need to limit numbers of staff and pupils in the building for everyone's safety. We will call you tomorrow if you qualify for a place in the hub. Please be aware that there is no school kitchen available so if your child is attending school they will require a packed lunch and a snack. If your child has free school meals then you will receive direct debit payments until we re-open.

Thank you for your understanding, as soon as we receive further updates we will let you know.

  • 4th Jan update

    Mon 04 Jan 2021

We did promise to update you all today but there have been some late meetings arranged with Welsh Government that the authority have to attend before making final decisions. We will post something as soon as we are informed late tomorrow morning. It may even be on the Welsh news tonight.

One thing that is very clear is that new pupils to school will not be able to attend until further notice. This refers to the new nursery intake as well as new starters in other year groups. We are so sorry but this is important given the current situation.

    Many thanks
