Songs and Rhymes
Research has found that when a child knows eight or more Nursery Rhymes by heart, by the age of 4, that they are usually one of the best at reading and spelling in their class by the age of 8.

End of the Academic Year 2022
All the Nursery team would like to say a very big thank you for your continued support this year. Today is the last day of term and what a wonderful year we've had in Meithrin! We have made our own little family and created lots of wonderful memories along the way like singing 'coch a melyn' every day and reading 'We're Going On a Bear Hunt' and making actions to go with it, our fantastic Sports Day and of course our brilliant Beach Fun Day. There has been lots of laughter alongside learning and having fun! It has been great to teach and watch your children grow! Thank you for trusting us to 'borrow' your children this year, it has been a pleasure to have them in Nursery. The children who are moving to Reception Class have been to visit their new classroom and teachers this week in readiness for September. For those staying in the Nursery Class, Mrs Smith and Mr Williams look forward to welcoming you back. Finally, we would like to wish you and your families a safe and happy summer break. The best things to do to prepare for the new school year is to have some rest, lots of fun, talk, read and sing a lot! With warm and best wishes The Nursery Team
