Keep up to date with all the news happening in school at the moment.
School Trips, all classes will have or have had an end of year school trip or activity day by the end of term. Please note that all letters that come home have got the cost of the trip attached. When you send the return slip into school please also send in the money for the trip. If we do not have enough funds to cover the cost of the trip then we will be unable to allow that trip to happen. As you can imagine the cost of buses at the moment is huge due to petrol prices.
Many thanks

Y6 Parents
A reminder that from next Monday 13th June until Friday 24th June, Y6 will be swimming every morning. Please ensure that your child comes to school with their swimming kit. If they do not have kit they cannot go to the leisure centre and would be in another class for the morning session.
They will be back in time for lunch so will finish normal time.
Many thanks
After School Clubs
Some pupils will be coming home today with letters, because they have expressed an interest in attending an after school club, after half term. Clubs start Monday 6th June immediately after half term.
We have the following clubs available :
Lego - Y3-6 Monday
Football - Y5 +Y6 Monday
Forest Schools (outdoor adventurous activities)- Y3 +Y4 Monday
'Thrive' -activities related to wellbeing - yoga, art, meditation-Tuesday
Mad Science investigations and experiments - Y1 + Y2- Wednesday
These clubs start at 3.10pm and finish at 4pm
The first pupils to express an interest in any of these clubs will be given a letter. When the letters are returned they will be placed in a hat and names will be selected by student council next week. We do not have limitless places, so I am afraid not all pupils who want a place will get one. Please ensure your child does attend if they have a place.
Please understand staff volunteer to do clubs, no member of staff is expected to offer a club. If any parent is interested in offering a club for our nursery and reception pupils please let us know by phoning the school office.
Thank you for your understanding
Boys Rugby
Y5 and Y6 boys have just returned from the rugby tournament. They have done an amazing job of winning every game. Nicely done boys, you are fantastic. We're so proud. Photos will be on the website in a couple of days.
Y6 Parents
Dear Parents, the end of year preparations for Y6 are really gaining momentum. We cannot believe that ideas collected from the pupils in January are still in their minds and they are working hard to put them into practise. They are working so hard to create posters and sponsor forms to raise funds for the events. We will be doing lots throughout the summer term as we don't want any child to miss any final event due to illness. There are a wide range of activities that we do not want to ask parents to fund, this is the reason why the pupils are fundraising. We will look at any shortfall and help with this.
Some pupils would like to tell you what they are doing and we would like to update you with these ideas. Could you let us know the best morning next week where you are available please? We were thinking 8.50am for about half an hour. As the pupils are the most important in these arrangements, some of them will be in the meeting. We appreciate that many of you work, but hope that most of you can do this. If you can message or respond to this message with when you are available next week , we can come up with the most popular time.
We are so proud of them. Presenting their ideas to you is also a major part of the new curriculum development and shows their independence, creativity and skills of enterprising.
Looking forward to hearing from you
thanks
School Closure – Red Weather Warning
Dear Parents / Carers,
Following MET Office guidance we have taken the decision to close school tomorrow, Friday 18th February 2022. This is due to the impending storm which now has a RED warning, meaning there is risk to life.
A Red Weather Warning poses the dangers of:
-Flying debris resulting in danger to life.
-Damage to buildings and homes, with roofs blown of and power lines brought down.
-Uprooted trees are likely.
-Roads, bridges and railway lines closed, with delays and cancellations to bus, train, ferry services and flights.
-Power cuts affecting other services, such as mobile phone coverage.
Due to the unpredictability of all of these dangers, we have taken the decision to close the school tomorrow.
This will be a closure day and no online learning will be offered, again due to the unknown situation regarding for staff and yourselves regarding power cuts, thus affecting internet accessibility.
I know this decision places challenges on you to arrange childcare for tomorrow and apologize for the inconvenience, but I know you will understand and agree safety of all our school community has to be the priority.
Please take care everyone, stay safe, and have a lovely half-term holiday and we will see all of you back on Monday 28th February.
Thank you all for your understanding,
Yours sincerely,
Mrs L Jones
Dear parents, breakfast club will restart on Monday 7th March. Up until this date we will still be operating the staggered starts and finish times for pupils. As soon as we are given updated data after the holiday on the cases in the area we will look to return to normal start and finish times. We have taken advice from the local authority not to do this straight after half term due to the levels of COVID in Carmarthenshire being the highest in the whole of South Wales at the moment.
We finish normal time on Friday and return on Monday 28th February. Just to help you plan in advance the next inset day will be on Monday 25th April straight after the Easter holidays. We finish for Easter on Friday 8th April at 1.30pm.
Many thanks
