  • A Polite Reminder

    Mon 30 Nov 2020

    Dear Parents,

As we get closer to the Christmas break, we urge you to remember your pick up and collection times outside school. A lot of parents are turning up at any time and this is not helping keep groups separated. We all want to be safe and well over the Christmas period , including school staff, without the need for isolation. Please respect the time that your child should arrive and collect them at the correct time. REMEMBER YOU BRING THEM IN AT THE TIME OF YOUR OLDEST CHILD IF YOU HAVE MORE THAN ONE CHILD. Wear your masks and stay 2 metres apart. Once you have collected or dropped off, please move away from the school gates. Help us all enjoy our Christmas please. Below is a reminder of the timings.

Nursery am and all day pupils, Y3 and Y6

Start: 8.50am (morning nursery 11am finish) Finish 2.50pm (nursery afternoon pupils start 1pm)

    Y1, Y4 and Y5

    Start: 9.00am Finish 3pm

    Reception and Y2

    Start: 9.15am Finish 3.10pm

  • Christmas Arrangements

    Tue 24 Nov 2020

As we all think about Christmas and having a lovely time with our families, can we do a few things to help each other and to stay safe please?

Firstly, could everyone please wear masks when picking up and dropping off their children.

If you are kind enough to be sending in gifts or Christmas cards for staff or pupils, could you please send them, no later than Monday 14th December. This allows us to quarantine them, before sending them home. All cards will be handed out on the last 2 days of school.

Pupils can wear their Christmas jumpers to school from Wednesday 16th December (CHRISTMAS LUNCH DAY), if they have not worn them any other time that week, outside of school. Please do not send any games or toys in with your child.

As we are unable to do a Christmas concert this year, we have some ideas that we are working on to cheer you all up, before we finish. A little surprise to say Merry Christmas from us all at Maes Y Morfa and to thank you for your support through this difficult year.

  • Children In Need

    Fri 06 Nov 2020
Children in Need: Friday 13th November

We would like to support Children in Need this year by putting on our trainers and doing laps of the school playground. Please sponsor your child per lap and send any monies into school in a small plastic bag (dog poo bag??) or envelope. It will be deposited directly into the bank and not touched. Coins only please. All pupils are asked to wear school uniform as normal but with their trainers.
There will be various creative competitions going on during the day that the children will be taking part in.
     Many thanks
  • Parents' Evening

    Fri 06 Nov 2020

    PARENTS’ EVENINGS TIMETABLE

Your child’s class teacher will call you to discuss how your child has settled back in to school and what their next steps are. Please see the timetable below which will tell you what day you will receive a phone-call. Apologies but each class teacher will phone you about each of your children separately. This could be on different days. It is not possible for you to receive a call about all your children at the same time. As these appointments are 10 minutes, each child will have their own slot.

ALL PHONECALLS WILL BE MADE BETWEEN 3.30pm AND 5pm. IF YOU MISS THE CALL, I AM AFRAID WE WILL BE UNABLE TO REARRANGE WITHOUT A VERY GOOD REASON. WORKING PARENTS: IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ACCEPT THE CALL AT THE TIMES GIVEN, BECAUSE YOU ARE STILL AT WORK PLEASE LET US KNOW. THE CLASS TEACHER WILL TRY TO RE-ARRANGE A SLOT THAT IS SUITABLE FOR YOU BOTH. THIS IS IN EXCEPTIONAL CIRCUMSTANCES ONLY.

  • School term dates and Parents' Evening

    Sun 01 Nov 2020

School term ends on Friday 18th December around 1pm. There will be staggered finish times, more information to follow. School begins for the spring term on Tuesday 5th January. We will continue with staggered start and finish times until we are advised otherwise.

We will publish arrangements for Parents' evenings by the end of this week. Sadly, we have to look at doing this in a different way this year as face to face meetings are not permitted. Thank you all for your patience and your understanding.

  • Coedcae short information film

    Sun 18 Oct 2020
Please follow the link to this really inspirational video from the staff at Coedcae school. This will help you make decisions about secondary school. A very informative short film which captures the opportunities that your child will have at Coedcae. In the absence of being able to attend open evenings, this is a fantastic idea. https://youtu.be/8sC2MIr5Rjo
